1. French Creek State Park

This state park is located less than 20 miles northeast of New Holland and can be reached in approximately half an hour by car via route PA-23. French Creek State Park features fishing areas, nature trails, hunting grounds, and numerous campsites.

2. Marsh Creek State Park

Open every day of the year from sunrise to sunset, Marsh Creek State Park sits in the rolling hills of Chester County and is located approximately 25 miles east of New Holland, making it an excellent spot to spend a day having a picnic with your friends and family. This public recreation area was established in 1974 and offers public access to the waters of Marsh Creek Lake.

Driving from New Holland to Marsh Creek State Park takes about 45 minutes via route US-322. Once you make your way here, you can enjoy plenty of outdoor activities and use the well-maintained facilities that the area has to offer. Marsh Creek State Park features fishing areas, boat ramps, designated hunting grounds, swimming spots, and numerous scenic nature trails.

3. Samuel S Lewis State Park

Established in 1954 and covering 85 acres, Samuel S Lewis State Park is another beautiful recreation area known for its scenic views of the Susquehanna River and the surrounding towns and fields of the region. This place is a fantastic spot for hiking, mountain biking, kite flying, and picnicking. Located approximately 35 miles west of New Holland, it can be reached in less than 45 minutes by car via routes US-222 and US-30.
